Scout.com affiliate CollegeFootballNews, a site which I am an occasional contributor, recently released their Big 10 win/loss predictions for each of the conference's 12 teams.
I did not partake in those predictions, but after looking them over, I disagree with several of their team forecasts and decided to post my own in contrast.
Here are the predictions from CFN.

You may or may not have noticed that I also included a prediction for the 2011 Big 10 Championship Game at Lucas Oil Stadium on Dec. 3, with Ohio State getting revenge against Nebraska for their mid-season loss to the Cornhuskers in Lincoln.
Who do you agree or disagree with more?

I think your predictions are way closer than theirs.
ReplyDelete11-1 for OSU? Wow. That's a little too optimistic for me. I think this year's OSU has the most talent in the Leader's, by a good margin but they also have some major holes. The biggest question is QB. I feel almost certain OSU is going to be conservative and go with Bauserman to start the year. Bauserman LIGHT YEARS worse than Pryor was last year. Even if they go with Miller he's not taking all the 1st team reps he needs. Then take away Sanzenbacher who was by far the most consistent WR last year and OSU only has Posey, who has great potential but not the greatest hands (reminds me of Braylon Edwards), and that's it at WR. Philly Brown has complete stone hands, hopefully they can get creative with Stoneburner or TY Williams can step up... we'll see. Then on defense OSU has a ton of potential, with Travis Howard and the rest to be a great secondary but that remains to be seen. Same with Sabino (who couldn't beat out Sweat last year) and Storm Klein at LB. Add to that Jim Bollman calling the offensive plays... just WAY too many question marks to call for an 11-1 season. I can guarantee there is no chance they lose to Michigan though, their defense has Mike Martin and that's it.
ReplyDeleteI hope you're right though.
Toledo has an explosive veteran offense and could turn in a close game but you'd expect the Bucks to wear the Rockets down in the 2nd half. Dantonio with an experienced QB doesn't expect to lose against Fickell and a new QB even with MSU in the Shoe. These two important early games will tell us just what we can expect this season. The CFB gurus on their national preview show expect the Bucks to implode on that 5th game against the Spartans. Anticipation runs high on how this season might unfold.
